Short summary
Remineralised carbon storage is projected to increase along the 21st century, but the magnitude of increase varies depending on the Earth system models. To constrain projections, we explore the relationship between remineralised carbon and deep ocean circulation. We show that the sensitivity of remineralised carbon to circulation slowdown varies considerably between models. More observational data and a larger model ensemble is needed to constrain projections of remineralised carbon storage.
